This Team site follows an important philosophy: function over form.
All quick links buttons shown and external sites in the top navigation menu are all links that our team uses daily.
The Horizon Logo at the top left is a vector image I created in Adobe Illustrate. I recreated the logo by using an existing raster image as reference.
And I created a theme that had Horizon's colors, but with a dark background to facilitate our team's preference toward dark mode.
Next is our Communications Site. This is our "public facing" site. To boost engagement, I kept the background white.
Again, function over form prevails here because our colleagues across multiple departments along with our team care more about ease of access to information.
You can see my style preferences towards quick links web parts and the vertical section layout across both sites.
I also designed a HowTube page that showcases all of our training videos for our students.Â
So our students can easily look for, watch, and even follow automated transcripts of any video they see on Microsoft Steam.
This was a clear upgrade to how we used to provide videos. They were simple links with no thumbnails.
This page has multiple collapsible sections for different types of documents that multiple departments use often.
Our original site had multiple pages for all of this information. With SharePoint quick links and collapsible sections, I was able to consolidate all of the forms into one web page.
This is also the first page where the vertical section is not used.
The Run Taxi page is the first time I start using a Hero web part. Currently this is a placeholder image, but it will eventually be replaced with a more appropriate image for the Jeppesen Chart Viewer.
Again, we are back to the vertical section on the right.
This page is the designated Trainers
page. This is the main page where content that our Trainers most often use and want are housed in.
I solicit feedback regularly from our Trainers on how to improve this page to meet their needs.
This section is an FAQ section that handles situations our Trainers often deal with.
This was one of the main requests our trainers had.
